The latest Nintendo Direct has just finished, and it sure gave us more of an insight into the 3DS’ future this year, as well as some Wii U related info. You can find a full summary of the event here (and coverage of the newly announced Yoshi and Zelda titles here and here, respectively). A host of more low-key/niche games were also announced to be headed to our shores:

Mario Party 3D

A Mario Party game for the 3DS was announced. The game will feature 7 different game boards, each with unique attributes (Examples given included the ability to collect boosts to increase your roll, and the ability to sabotage teammates). Mario Party 3D will release later this year.

Square Enix’s upcoming RPG Bravely Default: Flying Fairy has been tantalizing many of us on staff. RPG fans outside of Japan have been hoping that the game would make it out of the Japanese archipelago. While there is no official statement from Square Enix, Japanese-game focused website Siliconera is reporting that “trusted sources” have informed them that Bravely Default will be getting an international release.

If true, this means that the constant handwringing from JRPG fans can finally cease, as Square’s charming, oddly named RPG will find its way into international 3DSes.
