Word on the street is Michael Bay wants to date it.
Every time I’m reminded of the third Army of Two game, I experience dual emotions of groaning a little at the thought of a follow-up to the painfully mediocre sequel, and at the same time popping my eyes out in shock at the realisation that it’s being developed by the guys who brought us Dead Space and Dante’s Inferno.
Now Visceral Games has put out a new trailer for Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, which shows an “Explosive Encounter” that is basically the RPG Specialist ‘Thug’ — apparently a “connoisseur of explosive art” — taking a few shots at the player before getting blown to bits.
Remind me again why Visceral is developing this game?
The trailer for the co-op focused action game is nothing entirely special and forms part of a series of trailers for the game, entitled ‘Meet The Cartel’ where various enemy types are shown to you before being dispatched by the player.
The Devil’s Cartel takes players to the deadly streets of Mexico as the exquisitely named Alpha and Bravo, two operatives working for a private military company who are dropped in the middle of a drug war. The game is out towards the end of March, and I will forgive you for immediately going, “Meh,” at the thought.
The first Army of Two showed promise, the sequel did not. Here’s hoping the threequel works out better, for the series.
