We often think of Valve as the Utopian centre of the gaming universe where dreams come true (except a specific Half Life dream) and developers can work in a free environment that maximises their creativity. It’s nice to imagine that such a place exists within the company that is Valve but it is still just a company and like many other developers, Valve has reportedly been hit by by a number of layoffs.
It is yet unconfirmed but Gamasutra reported that many former employees are now out of work. Rumours suggest around 25 people are now unemployed from Valve and this affected primarily the hardware and Android sections of the company. Valve has yet to respond officially but we will keep you updated.
