David Cage, head of Quantic Dream and the creative mind behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, has spoken of his excitement to learn more about Sony’s PlayStation 4, among other topics.
Cage told IGN: “I can’t really talk about the PlayStation 4. We’re so impressed by what can still be done with the PlayStation 3. We can’t wait to see what can be done with PlayStation 4.”
He also touched on the subject of developing games for Sony’s left-in-the-dark PlayStation Vita, saying:
“We are really committed to work on PlayStation 3 and the future console, this is really what we want to focus on right now. This is not against the Vita, this is just what we started working on now, there’s no short term plan to work on Vita.”
Finally, and perhaps most interestingly, he confirmed that Beyond: Two Souls will release this year, and that a date will be announced soon.
“Beyond is almost in beta,” he said. ”It will come out this year and the release date will be announced soon.”
Cage said previously that the game “is very different from Heavy Rain, probably much more than people can imagine”.
