Starbreeze Shows New Co-Op Sci-Fi Shooter

Starbreeze Studios, makers of Syndicate and Payday: The Heist, recently updated their website with information on a brand new title they’re working on.

Storm, the new title, has been listed alongside Payday 2 and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The website shows that these three are the games currently in development.

The Swedish studio briefly noted Storm with the tagline “Co-op Sci Fi FPS. It is our future.”

Speculation from VG247 suggests that Storm could be ‘Cold Mercury’, a game which was expected to launch as a free-to-play title after the launch of Syndicate in 2012.

Cold Mercury was cancelled after the company’s CEO spoke-out with dislike towards free-to-play games. Well, either Cold Mercury was cancelled or altered to become Storm.

Starbreeze has been relatively quiet on their titles, as of late. This just shows that the cogs are still turning.
