eGamer Community Awards 2012: Day 2
eGamer Community Awards 2012: Day 2

Welcome back to our Community Awards for 2012, and in this write-up we’ll be giving you the results of day two of letting you guys and girls create total anarchy on our Facebook page polls. This one saw quite a bit of trolling, and that’s an understatement, as well as some good reasons to laugh. Either way, it’s your awards, so we’ll just roll with it. Let’s take a look at what happened on the second day.

Again just like last year, on Day 2 of the Community Awards we ran the polls for Best PC Game, Best PlayStation 3 Game, Best Xbox 360 Game and The Most Anticipated Game of 2013.

Below you’ll find summaries of the results.

Community Awards 2012: Best PC Game

minesweeper_610

Winner: Minesweeper

In what can only be described as complete and utter trolling, the Best PC Game award turned out to be quite entertaining for us. We had 35 votes for this one, with Minesweeper, Black Mesa, PlanetSide 2, Slender: The Eight Pages, Natural Selection 2, Dishonored and Diablo III all making the list. Then we had some rather intriguing options like “PC Sucks”, MS Paint and even Porn. No jokes.

The winner was Minesweeper with 17 votes, and it saw Duncan, Cavie and AG all voting for it. You may argue that Minesweeper is not a new release, but as one of our readers pointed out, technically it can be considered with the new release of Windows 8, so we’ll leave it up to you to work that one out. PC Sucks came in second with 5 votes, but we know that they just jelly. Porn was next with 4 votes, but I think these poor bastards didn’t realise they’re just exposing themselves publicly. Natural Selection picked up 3 votes, and then the remaining nominees had one vote each, with me voting for Slender: The Eight Pages. Personally, my only other option would be Far Cry 3 really.

Community Awards 2012: Best PlayStation 3 Game

journey1

Winner: Journey

This was an extension of the PC trolling award, and saw 20 votes cast, but a lot of trolling going on in the comments section. Journey and Far Cry 3 were about the only contenders, and then “PS3 sucks because Trebbz” and Alan Wake, an Xbox 360 and PC game, also cropped up.

The winner was Journey with 9 votes, including ones from myself, AG, Adam and Alessandro. Basically all the eGamer peeps whose names start with an “A”, which is a little creepy. Far Cry 3 came in second with 5 votes, and then “PS3 sucks because Trebbz” got 5 votes as well, and Alan Wake had one vote.

Community Awards 2012: Best Xbox 360 Game

Halo4Review-postmain

Winner: Halo 4

We had 19 voters for this poll, and Halo 4, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Dust: An Elysian Tail and Fez all made the list, with some non-exclusives like FIFA 13 and Mass Effect 3 also showing up. Then, the obligatory troll was Heavy Rain, a PS3 exclusive and 2010 release.

The winner was Halo 4 with 11 votes, including ones from myself, AG, Alessandro and Adam. The rest all picked up one vote each, with Cavie choosing Dust: An Elysian Tail. Heavy Rain got itself 3 votes.

Community Awards: Most Anticipated Game Of 2013

The Last Of Us Big

Winner: The Last Of Us

We had a total of 42 voters for this one, and it proved to be quite interesting. The Last Of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, DmC: Devil May Cry, BioShock Infinite, FIFA 14, Tomb Raider, Dead Space 3 and Injustice: Gods Among Us all appearing. Half-Life 3 was there, but got no votes, so we assume that the person who put it there just wanted to watch the world burn, but it didn’t quite turn out that way.

The winner was The Last Of Us with 12 votes, including ones from myself, AG and Adam. Second was Grand Theft Auto V with 8 votes, and it got one from Cavie. DmC: Devil May Cry and Tomb Raider trailed very closely behind with 7 votes each, and then BioShock Infinite came in with 5 votes, including one from Alessandro. The rest of the nominees got one vote each.
